aboutthebook icon

My name is Maxton and I’m a trader.

I live on a soulless planet where gravity, oxygen, and everything else are sold to the highest bidder on the black market. People are sold on the black market, too. You have to work really hard not to become one of those people. Pay your taxes, keep your friends and family close, and more than anything else—don’t get caught by the Militia. But all the rules changed for me the day I found her.

My name is Sophelia and I’m a stowaway.

I’ve been a slave for almost as long as I can remember. Waiting for the one day, one second, for my proprietor to turn his head so I could run and never look back. Now I’m on the run. And on a planet where no one is on your side and people would turn you in for a good meal or a piece of a silver, being on the run on Landu is the last place you want to be. Until he found me.

I won’t survive without him.

I can’t breathe without her.

[Monday’s Top 5] Favorite male characters and how they look like in my mind

monday's top 5 icon

Well, deciding my favorite male characters was actually really hard for me. I don’t easily favor a character and to find 5 of them was like a challenge to me.

I also had the need to show to the world how I believe they look like which is also pretty hard, right? When you read a book, you imagine the looks of a character based on what you read but I am sure that everyone has a different image in their mind.

So here is my list of favorite characters, the reason why I love them and how they look like inside my head.

no5

Ristan – The Fae Chronicles by Amelia Hutchins

This is actually how the author, Amelia Hutchins, imagined Ristan and I am so so so satisfied with the picture.

Why I love Ristan?

Besides his obviously incredible looks, since the very beginning Ristan showed us signs of his good heart and his intelligence. He appeared to be loyal, loving and caring towards his friends and siblings and that’s something I truly appreciate. Sadly, he was not a main character and we didn’t have the chance to know more about his love life and how he treats his women but from what I gathered from the books, he respects women even if they betray him or wrong him. His humour is unbelievable and he knows how to use it in order to cheer up someone. He is always ready to fight for his beliefs and he doesn’t give up easily. His heart and body are both strong, precious and deserve to be loved by anyone.

no4

Gabriel Merrick – Elemental (series) by Brigid Kemmerer.

As far as I remember Gabriel has dark hair and perfect blue eyes. In general stunning and strong looks. The pic I found closer to the one I had in my mind was this one.

Why I love Gabriel?

Among five brothers he is the most damaged one and even if he did some wrong and bad things, the support from his family helped him realize what brotherly love really is and that made him a better person. It’s really important to me, to be able to admit your mistakes and to understand how important family is. Gabriel used to be the player of the school but that wasn’t what he really wanted. After meeting his current girlfriend, he realized how superior he really was and that he deserved better than being just another jerk. He learnt how to love deeply and be a good friend. He learnt how to fight for a better life and not just give up. Who doesn’t love a guy who learns through love and trust? Who doesn’t love a guy who was ready to give his life for weaker people? Plus, his life ambition is to become a firefighter. If that’s not perfection, the what is?Read More »

[Review] Undeniably Chosen by Shelly Crane

aboutthebook icon

Ava has watched her parents, Caleb and Maggie, live the perfect fairy tale, the perfect love story, played out in front of her eyes her entire life. Her family is love, life, and happiness. The Jacobsons are everything a family should be and Ava is loved and well taken care of. But the one thing that’s missing from her life is the one thing she’s waited for every day, the one thing her kind knows will make them complete, the one thing they thought was gone and lost forever.

Her significant.

Seth has lived with the Watsons his entire life. They’re the only family he knows, but he knows that there are things they keep from him. He knows that they lie and they do unspeakable evil, things from when he was a child that he can barely remember that cling to the edges of his memory. He barely remembers his real mother and all he knows is what he’s told. He doesn’t know what to trust. He wants to believe that the Watsons love and care for him, have his best interest at heart, but isn’t so sure of that anymore when he finally—after a lifetime of waiting for her—meets his soulmate, and the Watson’s first act is to try to take her away from him.

The Virtuoso worlds collide, hearts are exposed, humans are endangered, and the lives of Seth and Ava are changed forever. They’ll have to love without judgment or reservation, they’ll have to be wise and accepting beyond their years, they’ll have to forgive for things before they’ve even happened, they’ll have to trust without seeing, have faith without knowing, and they’ll have to light their own way in the dark when everyone else is blind to show them the way. And more than anything else…

they’ll fight like hell to keep each other.

“The love one feels for his significant is bigger than the ocean, deeper than any well, more powerful than any storm.”

I was waiting for years to read this book and Ι finally finished it. Now I have to wait more for the second book and it kills me.

I loved every single word, every phrase and all the characters, even the villains. Shelly Crane just knows how to make you feel that way.

I really can’t review this book the right way because there are no words to express how I feel right now. I’ll just say that Ava and Seth were almost as perfect as Maggie and Caleb. Ava is her parents’ daughter after all. I wasn’t expecting nothing less from her and her Significant. Seth was really awesome and a perfect match for Ava obviously and he sent me these vibes that had me fall for him almost the same way I fell for Caleb. Well Caleb was my insta-love but Seth did a great job as well.

“There was no oil and water, no Watsons and Jacobsons, no Romeo and Juliet. Just Seth and Ava.”

Also, I thought that the “Romeo and Juliet love” that Seth and Ava experienced was going to be boring and all the same but it was actually better than I even hoped. The fact that there was no insta-love was even better but when the love came later in the book just blew my freaking mind.

“I wondered if Romeo and Juliet had been brought to life if this is what they would have felt. Betrayed, torn, confused, alone even when the person you’re supposed to be with is right in front of you.”

I wish all humans could love with all their hearts, minds and souls. I wish all humans were so eager to protect their soulmates. I wish all humans could understand each other the way significants do, but I guess that would be too perfect, right?
I wish my boyfriend was also my significant so that I would be able to feel his heart in my chest. Sometimes I catch myself trying to listen to his heartbeat when we sleep and I imagine that I could hear it through my own chest. It’s just so… wonderful.

I need to see more from Rodney and I hope that in the next books there will be more imprintings. Also I loved how Maggie and Caleb were a big part of this book and I loved them even more now that I’ve seen how they still adore each other, maybe more than they used to. I am so in love with their love and I even cried so hard when their names were mentioned for the first time. I cried like a freaking baby.

“I had watched my parents for what seemed like centuries. The way they existed so effortessly in each other’s world and space. They could go minutes without looking away from each other. They kissed constantly. They hugged all the time, stole touches and wrapped their fingers around the other’s wrist. I knew it was to feel their calm, to be wrapped in the little bit of bliss that their touch provided.”

As you can already guess this is an “absolutely-must-read book”. If you haven’t read Significance already just stop what you’re doing and read it. Now. go!

Lately she thinks life is all about hanging on by a thread and is gripping tight with everything she has.

She learns that not only is she his soul mate, and can feel his heartbeat in her chest, but there is a whole other world of people with gifts and abilities that she never knew existed. She herself is experiencing supernatural changes unlike anything she’s ever felt before and she needs the touch of his skin to survive.
Now, not only has her dad come out of his depression to be a father again, and a pain as well, but Caleb’s enemies know he’s imprinted and are after Maggie to stop them both from gaining their abilities and take her from him.

Can Caleb save her or will they be forced to live without each other after just finding one another?

Reasons why to read this book?

Call me hopeless romantic and a sucker for that kind of love but I will give you my reasons…

1) One touch… I wish I could just touch someone and know that we’re meant to be!
2) They can feel each other’s heartbeat…!
3) They have abilities!
4) They need to touch in order to survive…! Can you imagine that? I love skinship!
5) It’s well written and the are twists in the plot that can keep your interest!
6) The main characters are not annoying and you’re definitely going to love them. Also there are many more lovely characters!
7) There is more to this book than romance! There is enough action, mystery and suspense. Angst as well and comedy.
8) It’s everything a book should have been! Amazing~

Personaly when I finished the series… I just couldn’t stop thinking of their love, their bond and all the things they shared. It’s a love story that took my breath away~ I can’t help but read it and read it, again and again!
