[Blogger Award] The Encouraging Thunder Award

blogger awards

I can never be thankful enough to Raven [Dreamy Addictions] and Giselle [Hard Work Boulevard] for always supporting me and nominating me for sweet and awesome awards! You girls are in my top 5 favorite bloggers! ❤

So for The Encouraging Thunder Award the rules are:

ϟ Thank the person who nominated you.

ϟ Post the encouraging thunder logo.

ϟ Mention your purpose in blogging.

ϟ Nominate others for the award.

ϟ My purpose in blogging.

Ι just started blogging because I simply wanted to connect with people and share my opinion. After so many months my purpose is almost the same. I’ve met so many wonderful people and I still want to get to know more bookworms so I keep blogging and blogging. The only thing that’s different is the fact that I wish to be professional reviewer. I’ve made the first steps and I enjoy it enough to know that I want to blog in order to be able to help authors promote their books or help them get better at what they do. I really want to know that my opinion matters somehow and it helps people, authors, publishers and other reviewers. I blog because I think it’s important to let people know they did well and that no matter how many people disliked their books, they still worked hard for them and they deserve a praise. I blog because even if I did dislike a book, there’s still a chance that my opinion will help the author with the next book. I blog because I really like to compliment and help people. I really do.

[Book Tag] The Unpopular Opinion Book Tag

book tag

I think I was tagged before for this particular tag but since I’ve lost my bookmarks I don’t remember. If you’re the one who tagged me please let me know so that I can link your post to mine and thank you!

Yesterday, Analee [Book Snacks] was as sweet and kind as always and tagged me to do The Unpopular Opinion Tag and I am thrilled cause you all know how much I enjoy expressing my opinion. Coming up next as always is Rant Tuesday so it’s a great day to just say what I think.

Let’s do this!

♚ A popular book or series that you didn’t like.

Please don’t kill me or hate me but my answer is…

Yes yes yes I know you all love this book. It’s not that I hate it cause I don’t. I just didn’t like it… at all. BUT I finished it and this has to mean something, right? I usually dnf books I don’t like.

Not going to apologize to those who liked it but I hope you all understand that I am allowed to have different taste and opinion!

♚ A popular book that everyone hates but you love.

My first YA paranormal book ever… has a very special place in my heart!

A love triangle where your ship did not sail.

Oh don’t let me start with this!! Two series came in mind and I have to talk about both please cause I feel the need.

I really really really really really really liked Adrian, ok? I was shipping him with Rose so hard and my feelings were hurt when Rose went after Dimitri anyway. Poor Adrian… even though he got his own series, I still can’t get over how disappointed I was. I didn’t even read the final book of VA because I was spoiled that she really ends up with Dimitri. Oh what a surprise!

Calla was supposed to mate with Ren… Ren was absolutely the best! Calla falls in love with a human boy I don’t even remember his name. Why Calla? Why? You had Ren and you just gave him up. Dnf-ed the series of course. I won’t spoil you at all but I didn’t like what happened next.

♚ A beloved character you didn’t like.

America drove me crazy. Even though she is one of the most lovable characters, I just don’t like her at all. Especially after reading ‘The Heir’.

♚ A popular genre that you hardly reach for.

Dystopia. I think dystopian books are pretty much the same story with some differences. All about a girl who’s about to change the cruel world she lives in.

♚ A popular author you can’t get into.

Hm I don’t think I have one I can’t get into.

♚ A popular books series you have no interest in reading.

I’ll go the same as Analee.

I’ve watched the movie since it was a bit more romantic but just that. I am not really into erotica and especially BDSM. I have no idea why the series went viral but I don’t really want to know either.

♚ An adaptation you like better than the book.

That would be Maze Runner but I haven’t read the book. So I guess I’ll go with Divergent. Yes yes I loved the book but I liked the characters so much more in the movie. Book’s characters were a bit childish for me but in the movie they were badasses.

Want to say your opinion? Let me know and I’ll officially tag you. I was away for too long and I don’t know who has done this tag or not. Don’t be shy. I was tagged that way by Analee~

[Book Tag] The Pastry Book Tag

book tag

I would like to thank lovely Charley [Books and Bakes] for tagging me! Food and books is an amazing combination and her blog has them both!

The Pastry Book Tag was created by Aine [Writing on a Vintage Typewriter]

Here it goes:

Croissant: Name a popular book or series that everyone (including you) loves.

Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. One does not simply reads Lux without loving it.

Macaron: Name a book that was hard to get through but worth it at the end.

It was really hard for me to to finish Lorali but I made it and I liked it.

Vol-au-vent: Name a book that you thought would be amazing but fell flat.

Amazing cover, promising blurb but disappointing.

Pain au chocolat: Name a book that you thought would be one thing but turned out to be something else.

I thought it would be a disgusting erotica book but to my surprise, it turned out to be a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Well written and neat with fantastic world building.

Profiterole: Name a book or series that doesn’t get enough attention.

I love Elemental series and it’s so sad that people don’t give attention to these amazing books.

Croquembouche: Name a book or series that’s extremely complex.

Napoleon: Name a movie or TV show based off a book that you liked better than the book itself.

I loved the book but the cast was amazing and to be honest I found book’s Four to be more of a boy that movie’s Four. Movie’s Four was a man and he was just so… oh! Yeah cast was awesome and I enjoyed watching the movie more than I enjoyed reading the book.

Empanada: Name a book that was bittersweet.

I loved this book but I was sobbing so hard. Even though it was amazing, I don’t know if would ever read it a second time.

Kolompeh: Name a book or series that takes place somewhere other than your home country:

99% of the books I read take place other than Greece.

Pate a Choux: Name one food from a book or series that you would like to try.

I would like to try sweet buns which was Maggie’s favorite food from Significance series.

[Book Tag] The Firework Book Tag

book tag

Ι would like to thank the two lovely girls who tagged me, Kimsiang [Lazy Caramel Reads] and Cristina [My Tiny Obsessions]. Take a look at their awesome blogs!

SCREAMERS: A book that made you want to scream, in a good, or bad way.

~ Definitelly in a bad way. I was like “OMG WHAT IS GOING ON WITH HIS GIRL?” In general I didn’t like it at all and I was so completely disappointed by the use of Greek Mythology because I am a huge fan. Reading a book like Zeus made me really upset and sad.

BOMBERS: A book that you read before it “exploded in the book community”.

~ That would be City of Bones. I think second book was not even out yet.

BANGERS: A banned book you read.

~ I went through this list and there was not a single book I’ve read. So I guess I haven’t read any banned books.

PEONY: A book/author you think everyone needs to read.

~ My answer would be Jennifer L. Armentrout but I think people will eventually read at least one of her books. So I will just say that Christopher Paolini deserves to be read by everyone. Even though you might not like his books, he accoblished a lot. He is like 31 years old and he has written a complete high fantasy saga. He graduated high school at the age of 15 and he started working on Eragon right after that. He also drew the cover for Eragon. I think he is amazing.

CROSSETTE: A book/series with a complicated plot.

~ I haven’t read the books but Game of Thrones is probably the most complicated book there is, based on the TV series. I mean what the hell is going on?

DIADEM: A book/series with a set of amazing central characters.

~ I am torn between Significance and Half-Blood but I think I’ll go with Half-Blood. Even though I love Maggie and Caleb, I think that Half-Blood has a larger number of amazing central characters.

MATCHES: Light your own fireworks by tagging 5 people!

[Book Tag] The Reader Problems Tag

book tag

There are around 12 tags and awards that are pending and I felt the need to apologize for being late. Please keep tagging me even though I do not participate right away. My schedule is a bit rough lately but I promise I’ll do every single tag.

So for today I finally found time for The Reader Problems Tag. Wonderful Raven [Dreamy Addictions] was kind enough to tag me and I am so so so thankful! Take a look at her very interesting blog and her awesome posts!

Let’s do this!

1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

Hm that’s an easy question. Based on my mood and only. If I have 20000 books in my tbr list means that I also have a great variety of genres!

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

Actually I am a big fan of DNF. There is no way I will finish a book if I don’t like it. I can’t. Why would I spend my time reading a book I don’t like when there are so many options out there for me to read? No! Call me however you want but just by starting the book I am already giving it a chance. I only finish ARCs that I don’t like because I feel obligated to write a proper review.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

No, I don’t force my self to read because I won’t enjoy it. Reading books is not a job for me yet and I do it because I want to do it. Besides GR challenge is for your own satisfaction and it’s not a competition. Why would I put effort in that?

4. The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

If the story is good then who cares?

5. Everyone and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

To be honest I am always the one with the different opinion and I am dealing with it. I don’t mind about shared feelings because I get the same satisfaction just by discussing the differences in opinions! I am like that.

6. You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I don’t mind crying in public because I don’t even care.

7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads?

Nope! If it is a book I love then there’s no way I’ve only read it once and there’s no way I would have forgotten a lot.

8. You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

It is true that people have borrowed and never return books. Some of them were favorite books. I simply tell them the truth.

9. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

This happens to me all the time because games distract me. Well I am waiting for my gaming slump and I return to books easily.

10. There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

As many as I can afford.

11. After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

Depends on the mood but usually I read them right away because this is why I bought them.

[Book Tag] The Inside Out Book Tag

book tag

I would like to thank my sweet girl, Kimsiang [LazyCaramelReads] for kindly tagging me! I know it’s been a while since you did but my schedule was a bit full. Anyway here I am doing the tag like a boss! Thanks again honey!

Let’s see…

➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳

A book that brings you joy.

That’s easy! Singnificance by Shelly Crane!

➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳

A book that makes you angry.

That’s also easy. I have a full shelf with books that make me angry but the winner is… The Line Between by Tamsyn Bester.

➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳

A book that makes you sad.

I cried like a baby while reading Loving Mr. Daniels.

➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳

A book that disgust you.

I even dnf-ed because of that feeling. I don’t know why I picked it at first place.

➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳ ➳

A book that brings you fear.

This might be a YA book but it was quite scary and gory for my tastes. I love it but it freaked me out.

[Book Tag] Your Future Book Tag

book tag

I would like to thank Tifany from [Book is the Star] for tagging me and for turning this utube tag (originally created by Aria from BookGeekMovieFreak) to a wordpress tag. I am sorry for being so late.

Basically you choose five books and put them in a jar. You pick a book every two questions and your answer depends on the book. Personally I’ve chosen randomly my five books and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

1. Open book 1 to a random page. Look at the first word on the page. If it’s less than 5 letters, you will go to college. If it’s more than 5 letters, you won’t go to college.

The first word is ‘of’. So since it’s less than 5 letters I get to go to college.! Yaay~

2. Open book 1 to a random page. The first name you see. Think of that persons job, that will be your job. Note: Is that person stil in school? You will be a teacher. You don’t know that persons job? You will be unemployed.

‘Aiden’ is the first name I saw. Aiden is a sentinel so I am a badass sentinel who kills lots of daimons.

3. Open book 2 to a random page. The first name you see will be the person you will marry.

Clary is the first name that appears but I am sure that we both are not into girls. Jace comes after her name and ‘I do’! I just have to warn you that book’s Jace and not movie’s Jace. Absolutely not!

4. Open book 2 to a random page. The first name you see will be your best friend.

Clary is again the first name. I should accept it this time. Well she is all over the book after all.

[Book Tag] Summertime Madness Book Tag

book tag

I would like to thank lovely Analee [Book Snacks] and the little pokemon Kira [Fieitty Reads] for tagging me, sorry for being so late. You guys take a look at their really interesting blog because they deserves it.

Let’s do this.

❊ Show a book with a summery cover.

❊ Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for a summer vacation!

Ι guess Summerton from [Red Queen] would be a beautiful place to spend the summer.

❊ You’re about to go on a flight to your summer vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight, what novella do you choose?

Aiden is my favorite character and a novella about him would be the best way to spend the time.

❊ You have a case of summertime sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face?

❊ You’re sitting at the beach all alone…which fictional character would be your beach babe?

Oh that would be either Caleb from [Significance] or Aiden from [Covenant].

❊ To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional side kick do you pick?

Jen from [The Grey Wolves].

❊ Share the Summertime Happiness! Who do you TAG?

 Vivian [Outside Hook]

❊ Rae [Bookmark Chronicles]

❊ Kyra and Nikki [Book Allure]

❊ Emily [The Little Book Afair]

❊ Kerry [Kerryberrybooks]

❊ Daniela [Books to get lost in]

❊ Callum [Callum McLaughlin]
