Yeah there are some books I want to read and yet they remain in my selves untouched. I don’t know why but I swear I want to read them badly. I just need to organize and finally start reading them.
In the violent country of Ludania, the classes are strictly divided by the language they speak. The smallest transgression, like looking a member of a higher class in the eye while they are speaking their native tongue, results in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina has always been able to understand the languages of all classes, and she’s spent her life trying to hide her secret. The only place she can really be free is the drug-fueled underground clubs where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. It’s there that she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy named Max who speaks a language she’s never heard before . . . and her secret is almost exposed.
Charlie is intensely attracted to Max, even though she can’t be sure where his real loyalties lie. As the emergency drills give way to real crisis and the violence escalates, it becomes clear that Charlie is the key to something much bigger: her country’s only chance for freedom from the terrible power of a deadly regime.
The Earth is dying. Darrow is a Red, a miner in the interior of Mars. His mission is to extract enough precious elements to one day tame the surface of the planet and allow humans to live on it. The Reds are humanity’s last hope.
Or so it appears, until the day Darrow discovers it’s all a lie. That Mars has been habitable – and inhabited – for generations, by a class of people calling themselves the Golds. A class of people who look down on Darrow and his fellows as slave labour, to be exploited and worked to death without a second thought.
Until the day that Darrow, with the help of a mysterious group of rebels, disguises himself as a Gold and infiltrates their command school, intent on taking down his oppressors from the inside. But the command school is a battlefield – and Darrow isn’t the only student with an agenda.
It all began with a ruined elixir and a bolt of lightning.
Iolanthe Seabourne is the greatest elemental mage of her generation—or so she’s been told. The one prophesied for years to be the savior of The Realm. It is her duty and destiny to face and defeat the Bane, the most powerful tyrant and mage the world has ever known. This would be a suicide task for anyone, let alone a reluctant sixteen-year-old girl with no training.
Guided by his mother’s visions and committed to avenging his family, Prince Titus has sworn to protect Iolanthe even as he prepares her for their battle with the Bane. But he makes the terrifying mistake of falling in love with the girl who should have been only a means to an end. Now, with the servants of the tyrant closing in, Titus must choose between his mission—and her life.
The Burning Sky—the first book in the Elemental Trilogy—is an electrifying and unforgettable novel of intrigue and adventure.
My name is Tate. He doesn’t call me that, though. He would never refer to me so informally, if he referred to me at all. No, he’ll barely even speak to me.
But he still won’t leave me alone.
We were best friends once. Then he turned on me and made it his mission to ruin my life. I’ve been humiliated, shut out, and gossiped about all through high school. His pranks and rumors got more sadistic as time wore on, and I made myself sick trying to stay out of his way. I even went to France for a year, just to avoid him.
But I’m done hiding from him now, and there’s no way in hell I’ll allow him to ruin my senior year. He might not have changed, but I have. It’s time to fight back.
I’m not going to let him bully me anymore.
***This novel contains adult/mature young adult situations. It is only suitable for ages 18+ due to language, violence, and sexual situations.
Laia is a slave.
Elias is a soldier.
Neither is free.
Under the Martial Empire, defiance is met with death. Those who do not vow their blood and bodies to the Emperor risk the execution of their loved ones and the destruction of all they hold dear.
It is in this brutal world, inspired by ancient Rome, that Laia lives with her grandparents and older brother. The family ekes out an existence in the Empire’s impoverished backstreets. They do not challenge the Empire. They’ve seen what happens to those who do.
But when Laia’s brother is arrested for treason, Laia is forced to make a decision. In exchange for help from rebels who promise to rescue her brother, she will risk her life to spy for them from within the Empire’s greatest military academy.
There, Laia meets Elias, the school’s finest soldier—and secretly, its most unwilling. Elias wants only to be free of the tyranny he’s being trained to enforce. He and Laia will soon realize that their destinies are intertwined—and that their choices will change the fate of the Empire itself.
I am currently reading Throne of Glass series but after that I have to pick one of them. Have you read any? What should I read first?
An Ember in the Ashes is fantastic! I have not read any of the others 😉
I bet it is. I was thrilled when I read the blurb. Thank you honey~
😉
How’s the Throne of Glass series? I really want to read it since I loved ACOTAR so, so much.
I can’t fully have an opinion yet since I started reading yesterday but I feel really excited. I think it will worth my time.
I really want to read it because after I read ACOTAR I feel like Sarah J. Maas is Becoming one of my favourite authors but you can’t
/really/ judge an author by one book.
I’ll let you know when I finish it.
I really want to red An Ember in the Ashes and Red Rising so badly! And did you just say you’re reading the Throne of Glass series? YES I’m so happy for you! I hope you love the series as much as I do! xoxo
I haven’t read The Burning Sky and Red rising but I’ve read the other three books in your list.I’ve really enjoyed reading them.I think you’re going to hate Jared from the bully but it was unputdownable book.Red Rising is already in my TBR hope I love it too. 😀

I hope so too! 😀
I read pledge and recently bought ember in the ashes to read
Was Pledge ok? It seems so interesting!
I liked enough to attempt to read it in one sitting which is rare for me. The last book I did that on was darkness rising by Kelly Armstrong
Oh Kelley Armstrong is an excellent author, I understand.
Ember in the Ashes, The Pledge, and Red Rising are definitely on my never ending TBR list. I read Bully–I was so intrigued by the premise but the book just ended up being okay for me. Definitely a book to kill time with, though.
I totally understand. TBR list just keeps growing and growing… Hopefully I’ll read all five mentioned here but there are so many distractions! Thank you Erika!
Yes when you think you’re good with your TBR list another book pops up and you think “Oh my gosh I need to read that now!” HAHA
These books ruin everything!!
Red Rising is amazing! Hopefully you’ll enjoy it when you get around to reading it!
